Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother Heeraben was visibly overwhelmed with emotion as she watched on TV the swearing-in ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Thursday. Watching the live telecast on television at her house in Gandhinagar, Heeraben Modi clapped as President Ram Nath Kovind administered the oath of office to Narendra Modi. After leading the Bharatiya Janata Party to a massive victory in the Lok Sabha elections, Narendra Modi had met his nonagenarian mother Heeraben and sought her blessings.
Heeraben lives with the PM’s younger brother Pankaj in ‘Vrindavan Bungalows’ in Raysan village near Gandhinagar. Narendra Modi had spent about 20 minutes with his mother, touching her feet and seeking blessings.
