The new season of Strictly Come Dancing has been delighting audiences for more than three weeks now. Channel 4 broadcaster Krishnan Guru-Murthy is one of the most popular contestants on the show this year. He was recently surprised to know that his new fanbase also includes high-profile names like Bono and the rest of U2. No biggie.

Krishnan was sent a surprise video message from the With or Without You hitmakers. He shared the clip, which featured Bono and The Edge, on his Instagram page, with the two musicians rapping the lyrics of their tune Elevation before wishing Krishnan and his dance partner, Lauren Oakley, good luck.

‘The team told Bono and The Edge in Las Vegas that we were dancing the Paso for Strictly and they kindly sent us a message to ELEVATE our performance,” Krishnan wrote in the caption.

“@laurenmayoakley apologies the captions won’t work for some reason – but he’s saying “A mole, digging in a hole, digging up my soul now, going down, excavation. Iron Eye in the sky, you make me feel like I can fly, so high, elevation. Good luck Krishnan and Lauren, not that we believe in luck.” #U2.’”

Meanwhile, Krishnan recently revealed his teenage son asked if he could return to the live audience this week after watching him in the studio on Saturday. The broadcaster has previously admitted that his son had refused to watch him on the dancefloor as he was embarrassed that his dad was taking part in the hit BBC show.
