Adam Thomas is the latest celebrity to face elimination from Strictly Come Dancing. The 35-year-old actor, who is best known for his roles on Emmerdale and Waterloo Road, lost to broadcaster Angela Rippon. He has become the sixth celebrity to leave the series on Sunday.

He and his dance partner Luba Mushtuk performed Rumba to “Dancing on My Own”. However, the judges unanimously agreed to save Angela and Kai Widdrington after their Waltz but said it was a ‘really tough’ decision as both had improved in the dance-off.

Adam and Luba were in the bottom two weeks in a row with scraping through Halloween week against eliminated couple Zara McDermott and Graziano Di Prima.

When asked by host Tess Daly about his time on the show, Adam said, “Seven incredible weeks, what a journey it’s been. I honestly thought I was leaving in week two and the fact that I’ve got this far I’m so proud of myself, I’ve had an amazing time from start to finish.

“I came here to learn how to dance and I’ve learned so much more about myself. The confidence and self-belief I now have in myself, it’s out of this world I have to thank all these guys up here.”

However, fans are not very pleased with the outcome of Sunday’s results show. Some of them took to X to call Thomas’ elimination ‘unfair’.

“Disappointed in the judges vote on the dance-off, Angela as lovely as she is clearly made mistakes and Adam should have gone through, favouritism will ruin Strictly,” complained one viewer.

“What a sham! Angela R did not glide anywhere! She stuttered through that waltz, was nowhere near elegant. The only thing she did correctly was bob up and down,” wrote another one.

The remaining eight couples will take to the dancefloor next when Strictly Come Dancing returns on Saturday 11 November at 18:05, with the results show on Sunday 12 November at 19:20 on BBC One.
