Aryan Khan, the son of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, is set to make his directorial debut with the web series Stardom. The series will feature Bollywood stars portraying themselves and follows the lives of aspiring actors trying to make it big in the film industry. According to recent reports, the series will incorporate comedic elements.
Cinematographer Jay Oza, who is working on the project with Aryan, shared insights with Film Companion. “For a film like Raman Raghav 2.0, we had a specific vision due to the story’s nature. However, for the show I’m doing with Aryan, I can’t take the same approach because it includes a level of comedy and entertainment. Aryan prefers things to be bright, so I have to adapt to his vision, even if it differs from my usual style,” Oza explained.
Aryan Khan recently wrapped up filming for Stardom and celebrated with a grand wrap party attended by his cast and crew.
In a video from the event, Aryan, who is making his directorial debut with the series, is seen cutting a three-tier cake while his crew cheers him on. Bobby Deol, who is part of the series, was also present at the celebration.
In another video, Aryan praised the crew members who helped him complete the series. He also extended his best wishes to a crew member who will be working on Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayana. The venue featured a large backdrop showcasing posters of some of the best Red Chillies Entertainment movies, including Om Shanti Om, Zero, and Main Hoon Na.
Stardom marks Aryan Khan’s first series. According to sources, Aryan was busy shooting for Stardom throughout April at various locations, including a studio in Andheri East and Madh Island. Earlier this month, he took over the Royal Palms in Goregaon for a five-day shoot.
A report by media sources revealed that Aryan is meticulous about preventing footage leaks. “He knows how to explain scenes clearly, making the work much easier. His vision is quite clear, and he uses detailed descriptions to help actors perform to their full potential,” the sources stated.
Although Stardom is Aryan’s first series, he directed a commercial last year featuring his father, Shah Rukh Khan.
