Well-known filmmaker M Night Shyamalan, who recently wrapped up filming on psychological thriller Trap, is set to begin production on his next directorial venture, Good Grades.

It is being reported that the filmmaker has secured a SAG- AFTRA interim agreement, meaning he can commence shoot despite the current strike conditions.

Not much else is known about the forthcoming film at this time, but Shyamalan had earlier told a publication, “I have a new idea that I have started writing. It is out in 2024 and it is very, very exciting. It is a thriller. It is very unusual and very new compared to what I have been trying to do (recently), but I am feeling very excited about the story, so much so that I can’t wait to tell it to you guys. I love that feeling, that electricity of ‘wow, I can’t wait for you to see it’. I will say this, the angle into the story is why it’s so exciting. The story might be something that you’ve seen before but the angle is very, very unique – the point of view.”

However, he did not specifically mention which film he was talking about – Trap or Good Grades.

Good Grades will commence filming in Mississauga, Ontario next month.

Meanwhile, the Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike came to an end on September 27. However, the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) remains on strike at this time in an effort to secure better wages, protection against artificial intelligence, etc.

However, SAG-AFTRA grants interim agreements to certain titles allowing them to continue shooting.
