Hollywood star Dwayne Johnson “The Rock” has ruled out a run for the U.S. presidency. The WWE legend, who has also established himself as one of the most saleable actors in Hollywood and boasts of a slew of successful films and television projects on his resume, has clarified that he is not planning to run for president anytime soon. He also added that he is currently focused on being a good father to his daughters and spending quality time with them.
CBS Sunday Morning shared a clip of a forthcoming interview with The Rock in which the 50-year-old actor shuts down any speculation that he should consider running for president. “It’s off the table. Yes, it is off the table,” he tells correspondent Tracy Smith.
He continues, “I will say this because it requires the B-side to this. I love our country and everyone in it. I also love being a daddy. That’s the most important thing, being a daddy. Number one. Especially during this time, this critical time in my daughters’ lives because I know what it was like to be on the road and be so busy that I was absent for a lot of years. My first daughter’s growing up in this critical age at this critical time in her life and that’s what the presidency would do. My number one priority is my daughters. CEO sounds great, but the number one thing I want to be is daddy. That’s it.”
For those not in the know, Johnson shares 21-year-old daughter Simone Garcia Johnson with his ex-wife, Dany Garcia. The actor also shares 6-year-old Jasmine and 4-year-old Tiana with his wife Lauren Hashian.
