Boris Johnson hosts Point of Light Winner and Climate Activitist at Downing Street

Seven-year-old climate Activist Aleesha Gadhia made headline news last month when she took home the child of Britain awards presented by TV anchor Eamonn Holmes.

Aleesha has been sent letters from the royal family including the Queen, the Duchess Kate Middleton and Prince William.

She was invited on Tuesday 9th August to meet the Prime Minister Boris Johnson at number 10 Downing Street to question him to find out what number 10 does with recycling and to attend the points of light celebration.

She asked him a series of questions including a what would you like the next PM to so about climate change and he answered saying he would like them to be as passionate as he is about climate change and would like them to continue his ambitions to be more environmentally friendly and climate conscious and continue the work from COP26.

She also asked him what he teaches his children about the environment and he said his wife is very climate conscious and she is teaching them how to be environmentally friendly.

Aleesha has now also asked if she can visit Downing Street again to see how sustainable the building is and what environmental measure they have in place. We are waiting on a response for this.

Born in Nottingham, UK and only 7 Years of age, she has won the nations heart and has been given numerous of letters from royal family members to congratulate her on all the awareness she is bringing and to break diversity as a youthful indian girl from Nottingham.

Aleesha is the first youth ambassador for Cool Earth, which aims to raise awareness of climate change and lobbies businesses to operate more sustainably.

Aleesha has been nominated for the BBC Make a difference awards and wenaturalists awards both for her climate change campaigning they are to be held in September.

Aleesha has worked tirelessly over the past 2 years to promote awareness about climate change and the environment. Even whilst on holiday in Egypt, Aleesha found time to plant trees, litter pick and clean up the ocean with the local staff.

Aleesha said “ I think Boris Johnson and what he is doing is excellent and I was so pleased to meet him “

Johnson stated “ it’s amazing there’s so many people in this room but I am so delighted to meet Aleesha today and congratulate her on all the marvellous stuff she is doing to make everyone aware of what we should do keep this planet safe “

Aleesha has now organised a Litter pick in her local community with Ruth Edwards MP in September.
